Kelly DiNardo & Amy Pearce-Hayden are mothers, yoga teachers, yoga studio owners, and the co-authors of “Living the Sutras: A Guide to Yoga Wisdom Beyond the Mat”. They met in Madison, Wisconsin and connected over both being yoga studio owners and yoga teachers. One thing led to another, and after discovering their mutual love of the yoga sutras, they decided to write an easy to digest book on the yoga sutras that will help people learn the yoga sutras and take them off the mat and into real life.

7 Ways to Implement Mindfulness in Your Life

How often have you rushed through the day, jumping from one thing to the next? Trying to do two things at once (it’ll allow us to get more things done right?), bouncing around left to right, promising ourselves a moment of calm when we get to our yoga practice, but then sometimes we get too busy for even that….

But what if the key to getting more done, reducing stress, and having more energy was to slow down? It’s an interesting thought, getting more done but by slowing down.

What I mean by slowing down is taking time to notice what we are doing, and being fully present in the moment, noticing our surroundings, the small things that are so beautiful, sensations that we are often too busy to notice. This can be described as mindfulness. (more…)
