On this episode of the podcast, I am joined by Or Shahar, who is joining me all the way from Germany. Or shares how she came to yoga from a place of depression and found that yoga was very healing for her. She decided to take her first teacher training in India, and then proceeded to take another training in Germany.
Or shares how her teaching journey led her to teaching and living in Berlin, Germany and what the yoga landscape is like in Germany. She also shares how she has taught yoga to individuals with special needs and how she has expanded her business online through trainings and videos. We discuss the importance of being patient with yourself and your business, stepping outside of the traditional idea of what a yogi and a yoga class should look like, saying “yes” to as many opportunities as you can when you’re a new yoga teacher, and so much more!
Enjoy!

Welcome back for Season 3 of M.B.Om! I am so excited to kick off this season with an interview with Namastream co-founders Sandy Connery and Jennifer Barcelos. Sandy and Jennifer share how they got into the yoga industry, what inspired them to create Namastream, and what Namastream does for yoga teachers.
In this episode, we chat about the struggles of developing an online software business, as well as what Sandy and Jennifer see the Namastream teachers struggle with when it comes to creating an online business. We touch on imposter syndrome, producing content even though it’s not perfect, putting yourself out there, and how to create and market a successful online yoga business.

Lauren Lapointe and I met through Udemy after we both launched courses on yoga. Since then, Lauren has put out 4 courses on Udemy and experimented with Skillshare, as well as is in the process of transferring her courses on her own website. Lauren has been quite successful with her online courses and has over 12,000 students between her 4 courses.
Online courses are a great way to get your name out there, to learn a new skill, to expand your audience, and to make some passive income, but it’s a daunting task. There is so much to learn about microphones, lighting, what camera to use, what software to record with, and then how to market your course.
On this episode, Lauren shares how she created her courses and what she learned along the way. She shares the research that she did (and would recommend that you do as well) and what she’s learned through her course development. Finally, Lauren and I chat about the pros and cons to each platform and marekt place, and how to convert your course to sales through strategic marketing.
If you are even remotely interested in starting an online course, you don’t want to miss this episode!
Enjoy!
