This week on the podcast I am joined by Danni Pomplun, who joined me all the way from San Francisco, CA. Danni is a full-time yoga teacher who runs a successful business both in San Francisco and online. He is a yoga teacher, yoga teacher trainer, podcast host and so much more.

On this episode of the podcast, Danni shares his journey getting into yoga and what inspired him to become a yoga teacher. He also talks about why he decided to take the leap into teaching yoga full-time, what that journey and transition has been like for him, and what he’s learned along the way. Danni talks a lot about the importance of the teachings of yoga, and integrating them into our lives and our personal practice. We also talk about authenticity and how to teach from a place of authenticity and become an authentic yoga teacher.

Enjoy!

Discussed in this episode:
  • We have teachers in our lives for a reason and teachers remind us of our worth
  • Being a full time yoga teacher is hard – you don’t get paid if you don’t show up, you don’t get vacation time or sick time!
  • There is a lot of opportunity if you want to put your head down and do the hard work
  • There is a lot of opportunity if you want to create it!
  • Being a full time yoga teacher is hard work and that is the way that you will be successful
  • You need to decide where your values are at when you dive into teaching full time
  • When you first start teaching, you emulate your teachers and repeat what you hear
  • You need to have a strong personal practice so that you really understand the teachings and the things that you are saying
  • What does “work” mean to you? How you define work is key for your career as a yoga teacher.
  • Give yourself permission to be human and to come back to the practice – things won’t always feel great and it won’t always be perfect
  • Your own personal practice will be your biggest teacher
  • Just keep trusting in what is real to you – this is how you become authentic to yourself and your students
  • Put your head down, do the work and consistently study
  • After each time that you study, be sure to give yourself time to integrate your learnings and teachings
  • You can’t rush yoga! You have to give it time and you have to be patient with your journey as teacher
  • Biggest business tip: stay authentic to you, do what feels right to you and do what feels true to you
  • Look at people as colleagues, instead of competition – we can work together and learn from one another
  • You are enough exactly as you are!
  • And much more… Here’s the episode!
