“Come to a comfortable seated position, palms together at your chest, and set an intention for your practice,” the yoga teacher breathes out slowly, the words dancing along the long, drawn out breaths of her body.
I will focus inward and not worry about what other people are doing today. Everything but my practice will stay off my mat.

Chelsey Orth is one of those people that I will forever be grateful to have met. Her smile lights up a room, and her energy is contagious. I’m lucky enough to call her my little sister from another mister.
Chelsey and I met on a plane headed from Taipei, Taiwan to Bali. We had both booked airport pick ups from the guesthouse that was hosting our yoga teacher training, and the guest house had emailed us, telling us that we were on the same flight from Taiwan to Bali.

Jeff Mah is easily one of the best yoga teachers I have ever practiced with.
He’s charismatic and funny, and he has a unique way of holding space in a yoga class that makes him a phenomenal teacher. He has a passion for movement and for helping people to feel better and stronger in their bodies.
The first time I attended Jeff’s class, I was amazed by how he took the time to find out every single person’s name in the room. He guided us into shapes that I had never been in before, and I felt into places of my body that I didn’t even know existed. I think we used every single prop imaginable in a 75 minute class, and at one point we even worked in partners.
By the time I left class, I felt both energized and exhausted from the work I had just done, both shocked and amazed by the quality of teaching I had just experienced. Nearly a year and a half later, I know I have Jeff to thank for a lot of the major improvements in my practice.

I’m thrilled to announce that after months of concocting, planning, interviewing, and developing, the M.B.Om podcast is finally available for your listening pleasure!
The M.B.Om podcast was developed out of a personal need that I had as a new yoga teacher, and I’ve created this podcast, blog & website as a way to help other new yoga teachers find their path, and grow and develop their careers.
Each episode brings you a new and unique yoga teacher that is doing something awesome and inspiring. On each episode, you will learn something different about the business of yoga and what it means (or can mean) to be a yoga teacher. You will come away from each episode feeling inspired to get on your mat, get out and teach, think outside the box, and expand your career.
