You were a yoga teacher. You worked at a studio, taught twice a day, five days a week. You were paid per class, $45 a time. It didn’t matter if there were thirty students, twenty students, or three students, you always made the same amount. When you started out classes were always full. The yoga studio was pretty busy. Everything was good and easy, but things started to go wrong.

I had never met Lauren Roegele before we connected on FaceTime to do an interview for the M.B.Om podcast. We were scheduled to talk at 3pm EST, and around 3:05pm I sent Lauren a quick text to confirm that everything was all good on her end. She was having troubles with Skype and couldn’t get logged in. “No worries”, I told her, “I’ll FaceTime you instead”. We connected on FaceTime, and as we settled in to begin the interview, my computer froze and shut down. Nearly 10 minutes later we were back on the phone ready to go.

What a start to the interview, I thought to myself. Technology didn’t not seem to be on our side.
